SPASTICITY CLINIC - Multi-disciplinary spasticity clinic in Auckland and Wellington with emphasis on use of ultrasound guided Botulinum Toxin injection. Assessment for the suitability, and the ongoing monitoring of, Intrathecal Baclofen Pump.

REHABILITATION MEDICINE SPECIALISTS

Dr Richard Seemann is an Otago graduate and has worked for ABI Rehabilitation since 2000. He holds qualifications in internal medicine and rehabilitation medicine. He consults on many aspects of rehabilitation, with particular interests in long term outcomes after severe traumatic brain injury and the management of concussion. He is skilled in the use of Botulinum Toxin for spasticity management, using ultrasound guidance. Dr Seemann is based at the ABI Auckland facilities in Epsom and regularly does clinics in Northland via Telehealth.

Dr Robin Sekerak US trained Rehabilitation physician in Physical Medicine and Brain Injury Medicine. Robyn also trained in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She helped establish a comprehensive stroke service for Waikato Hospital, providing rehabilitation input to the neurosurgical, trauma, vascular, ortho and paediatric services. She provides, teaches and practices holistic rehabilitation services through ABI for clients with the most severe traumatic brain injury to concussion, and spasticity management for the Wellington region.

Dr Soyoung (Sue) Kim is a Rehabilitation Medicine specialist. In her role as ABI Auckland Medical Director she is involved with training doctors on the registrar training programme and sharing her substantial experience in community care of TBI and concussion.

ABI Rehabilitation is actively committed to promoting training and growth in Rehabilitation Medicine in NZ. We are the only facility in Australasia to hold CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accreditation.
