A press release issued by Pharmac has confirmed that the pharmaceuticals company funded more medicines in the past year than any other years.
Says acting chief executive Steffan Crausaz 'In the past year, we have provided new or wider access to 82 medicines – the heaviest and most sustained period of medicine investment in Pharmac's 18-year history'.
A few factors that contribute to the increase in medicines funded include a higher medicines budget and Pharmac's savings programme.
